What is the common component shared with both the front and rear suspension that would make the EXACT same rattle noise when travelling over small bumps in the road? For example - cats eyes, small bumps will bring it out front and rear.

Car has only done 47,000km. I doubt its shocks... sounds more like some sort of bush... but what bush would be worn front and back to produce the same noise?

Possible Sway bar linkages - very common in BA/BFs

You really need to get under the car and check everything out for noises like that though.

Its a noise you can hear through the body, sounds more like suspension rather than brakes...if it were brakes, I doubt they would even work with the volume this rattle is at... possible sway bar....are the bushes the same front and rear?

My car has done 47,000k's, it rattles from the front badly over small bumps like you said. I thought it was suspension, but turned out to be brake pad rattle. A new set of pads with anti-rattle shims will be going in soon.

This may or may not be your issue, but here's a thread on it:

Concur about the pad rattle, although on mine it has it on the front only....BFII.

If it has a rattle on a certain piece of tarmac, go over it with the brakes off, then on to see if the noise goes away.

I have had the exact same issue witha BA V8. Sort of sounds like a hollow wobbly nocking sound. When you hit bumps in front and back.

Have just had shocks and nolathane bushes and diff mount from pedders. Still doing the same thing. Will be taking it back there Next week. To find out what it is?

Very mysterious...

jeez, ive had the same problem, I just hit my tires and I can hear a tiny knock only in the front left tyre, but my handbrake was on so I am guessing that it is the brake pads. soo looks like something to fix on the weekend.

that's it exactly. I sounds like shocks to me. But as people have stated, they replace shocks only to have the same noise.... someone has got to know what it is...

Do any of the FG owners on here have this problem???????
