If I remember correctly..

This is APS, according to Dr Z's great car stat spreadsheet.

1-100km/h's are

Phase 1 - 5.4 sec

Phase 2 - 5.2 sec

Phase 3 - 4.8 sec

1-400m are..

Phase 1 - 13.6 sec

phase 2 - 12.8 sec

phase 3 - 11.6 sec

Stalker ATS Radar gun has a PC interface which captures a moving object and provides raw data of speed and distance with approx 50mS resolution.

We use them to provide data on athlete acceleration and ball hitting/throwing speeds. It works exceptionally well on motor vehicles too. :gooff:

I'm sure it is the same unit that the car magazines use. The software is pretty sharp, as it provides graphical outputs of speed vs time, speed vs distance, distance vs time, acceleration vs time and acceleration vs distance.

There is also a selectable statistics report which provides: 1/4 mile time; 1/4 mile speed; 1000 , 660 and 60 foot times; 0-100kph and 0~160kph times and any other conceivable user custom stat based on the raw data.. eg could look at acceleration time from 60 to 120 kph..... like the data magazines provide for acceleration times in different gears at different speeds.

I could borrow it for a weekend, but how do we organise a group of modified XR6t's in Adelaide? There are a few Nizpro modded cars here, but no APS cars as far as I'm aware. Would need a stretch of good quiet country road also. :gooff:

hmmm, methinks a sunday cruise might be the go..... to the southern wineries...

I think the unit the magazines use is called something like a coreviet or something, from what I have read in motor/wheels they are a pain in the ass to fit cause they have to be put attached to the wheel somehow.
