I thought the computer varied boost to an extent to get a set max torque?mine runs to 6000rpm, completely standard. before rev limiter bounce.and usually sits on 1/2 a bar (according to the F6 gauge) at full boost although it will generally shoot to about 2/3 a bar when it initially hits boost.so that lines up perfectly with benny's statement.I think the lag your refering to is a combination of the electronic throttle and dampening of the throttle movements for emmisions. could be modified with the right tune, not sure about the one your refering though.
