Widest Tyres That Can Fit On 18x8 Rims?

Hi, I've got 18x8 inch rims from a G6E turbo on my bf xr6t and was wondering what are the widest tyres you would be able to fit on these rims? If they are too wide will they affect handling?

245/40/18---- maybe 255/40/18 but no wider

Legally, 245 is the widest you can go on an 8" rim in 40 series.

Hi there, probably not worth a new thread, but I'm on the verge of ordering a set of 4x KU31's in 245/40/17 for my stock BFII 17x8's.

Is there any issue with this width legally or otherwise? Just to recap stock is 235/45/17 on this rim.

these are a few bucks cheaper than 235/45/17's, and will the width help traction wise? I'm still stock power but who knows what the next 40,000KM's will bring...

You can squeeze wider tires on the rim (legalities aside) but remember, you cant on the front as it will make contact with the suspension (rears only) - I have seen 275 on the 8.0 x18's
