I wish to read from the following prepared statement:

I offer my heartfelt and sincere apologies to any members of fordxr6turbos.com who I may have offended by my use of the term '4 wheel w@nkers'. Upon reflection and after discussing this matter with my family and friends I thought it best to advise you it was not my intention to disparage the name of any 4 wheel drive owners of these forums. I also wish to offer an unreserved apology to any of the members of these forums who consider themselves members of the 'w@ankers' - I did not intend to associate you with '4 wheel drive owners'. For those members who are both '4 wheel drive owners' and 'w@nkers' I am truly sorry. I would also offer an apology to those villages which are stlling missing their idiot.

In my defence I should point out that as I typed my original statement I was suffering from the after affects from trying to swallow a fluid table my mum gave me. I was also momentarily distracted by an interesting SMS message that I had received.

Hammer 007.

I always have admiration for someone who is prepared to accept responsibility for what they say or do.

I was going to say more about how people are becoming touchy about remarks about their chosen hobby or passion, and I realised that I had a bit of a snap about comments on my chosen career, so I will say no more on the subject except that if one is heard to hear disparaging remarks long enough then one is liable to bite someones head off.....and unfortunately the person who has said something unwittingly becomes the target.

Maybe we should all be a bit more thick skinned (me included) because after all this Forum is about cars and I love driving, talking and dreaming about cars!

Alot of drivers in Canberra are so selfish. Typical scenario. 2 lane road. Form one lane coming up.. Canberra drivers speed up to the form one lane forming a massive traffic wedge. Try changing lanes in Canberra. It's actually gotten better (in my opinion) in the last year or so. The usual lane change would see you with a blinker on, ready to change and car after car just pass you. Nowadays I just push in. In Sydney, drivers seem more curtious (to me atleast).

A few year ago aswell, I was in my car (XF) at some shops waiting for my dad to get back from getting some food. It was valentines day. A 4x4 was in front of me. His b**ch (harsh I know, but I was pissed off), get's into the passnger side and they have a quick smootch. The w@nker put's his 4x4 in reverse and bloody hit the XF in the front spoiler. I quickly jump out to see the damage. The 4x4 tow bar went right through. I knock on his window and he gives me the finger and pisses off. I then waited for my dad and went to the police station with his rego details. Don't know what happened after that.

Another story about the XF. Parked in the parking of the same shops. come back 5 minutes later and bother the driver door and the right back passanger door have massive creases in them, from some 4x4 W@nker . I remember the car that was there but had no memory of any rego.. oh well.. I'm sure people have dozens of these types of stories each.

My friend as a Canberra copper (and someone who was born and raised here) I can say that Canberra drivers are without doubt the worst drivers in Australia. They have the best roads but have enormous difficulty with the most basic tasks. They have no idea how to merge, no idea how to drive through roundabouts (god knows we have enough of them), no idea what the phrase 'roadworthy' means, constantly talk on their phone whilst driving, dont know what 'following at a safe distance' means etc etc.

At least when you go interstate people drive in a predictable fashion. I think many Canberra drivers either can't read, or dont understand English as its written on street signs.

The fact that this guy has his car damaged by some inconsiderate tool in Canberra doesnt shock me to say the least.

Talking about Canberra drivers, there seem to be a lot of those blue number plated cars around.

What would happen if you were in an accident with a diplomat?

Again, what would happen if the accident was their fault?

As the 'yarpie' in Lethal Weapon 2 said......."Diplomatic Immunity" :D

Quite a few years back (mid to late 80's) the Russian embassy Limosine was invlolved in a major high speed crash that was their fault (I think there were a few deaths).. Nothing happened to anyone. They didn't even get a slap on the wrist. But as far as Diplomatic plates go when I see one I stay as far away as possible ;)
