If you can afford to either fix it or have it off the road while you build up the funds to fix it then give it as hard a time as you like.

Mate take Erko's advice, even some 1/4 passes to get it out of your system. With the current road rules and a may budget that will involve a fair bit of revenue raising I would not be pushing my luck to much.

They can cop a fair beating but for the sake of your licence hit the track & the urges dont become so frequent. I was abit of an idiot when I first got mine but after a few 1/4 runs it kills the urge to do something I probably shouldnt. That & its bloody fun, nerve racking & exciting. Its been over 6mths since ive been so I think its time to get back down there & kill a few of those urges. lol. I thnk I have a case of blue tyres

lol obviously uve never had a descent prang due to some hoon hitting u, or u hitting someone else whilst hooning...thatll settle u down a bit when u go driving if n when it happens, like a few of the others said, theres a time and a place. its not worth loosing your license and possibly your car aswel, whether it be confiscated, crushed or totaled. hit a track or save up 5g and buy a street stock n get your nasr license n fang around on the dirt oval...good fun. atleast u look after your car though. wot I do is when im close to home I start grannying the car n let that b its kool down, and it keeps every1 else on the surrounding steets happy

Let me point out that any sort of spirited driving is always only ever done on empty quiet roads, no one in the car, and I never drive beyond my limits. I have been drving long enough to know what I can handle, I have also had my share of accidents (t-boned a car at 95km/h - was not speeding, he pulled out onto a highway...) and they certainly knocked the stupidity from me, driving responsibly ever since. You can only go so fast in a city, my original post is in reference to the lovely empty twisty roads that are within a short distancw from where I live

There is a time and a place, I totally agree. For me, its a lot more often than those stuck in larger cities and suburban mazes.

I don't know, have had 3 cars last week that had turbo failures due to oil cooking in the oil supply line through lack of cool down time.

It's stupid to say "turbo timers are a waste of money", if you're sensible enough to give your car a couple of minutes of sensible driving before you stop and few seconds idling before turning off than they are a waste of money.

But for people that "have to" flog their car just before stopping and have no patience to wait a minute or two to let it cool down than a turbo timer is a smart investment.

I don't have one as I let my car cool down, but to say they are a waste of money is stupid. It's also a lot better to let the car cool down while driving as it reduces heat soak.

very true, the extra air flow helps alot aswel, the only problem with turbo timers is that ive been told they can void your insurance if the car gets nicked...but they could only drive it for a few mins at the most if they nicked it...mind u that's all they really need.
