Quick question,

I have noticed my badges on my boot are higher than other xr6's and turbos around.

The norm seems to be tha the turbo badge is inline if not just above the chrome strip on the brake lights.

My turbo badge is in line with the reverse light.

So after my recent case study of observing every xr6 possible, have noticed that they are all in different places?????

Some below the chrome strip, 90% are just above the chrome strip and have seen some like mine in line with the reverse light.

Sorry to sound so trivial but believe it or not this little thing has annoyed me for months and want to know is that standard from ford, or has it been de badged and re badged again or what??

Some one have any info :):):):)

generally the factory position will vary slightly, a lot of new cars these days have "positioning" templates, so that when you put on a badge/decal whatever you will need to line it up to surrounding points so you know its in the right spot, ford's dont do this, they just give you the badge, peel the backing off stick it on, so basically any car that has been worked on will have the badges in a "guess spot" I've seen them all over the place, and to me its a dead giveaway they have been off the car at some point.

I haven't actually noticed where my badge's sit compared to other XR's but, as Chich mentioned, I would've thought they would use the positioning template to stick them on in the exact same position on all of them on the production line.

I know being a long time VL enthusiast that their badge's were stuck on with the use of a template (circa 1985 - 1988), so whenever I've checked one out and the badge's were out of line, it would instantly cry out telltale and lead me to ask question's about accident's/respray's etc, and that sort of thing.
