hey guys just washed my car and when I popped the bonnet I noticed that the boonet lining is all broken and hanging down rubbing on the top of the rocker cover and crossover - it has rubbed paint off the crossover and is leaving ugly black marks on the rocker cover - I will get a new one when I get a chance to go to ford but is it ok to remove this or will it destroy the paint on the bonnet???

Check your left engine mount, could this be whats ripped the holes in it? Just open your bonnet, if auto select drive with the brake on hard and bring the revs up a bit, if manual put it in first and let the clutch out a bit and bring revs up, if the mounts buggered the motor will try to fold out over the drivers side guard..

cheers boys - it isnt the engine mount - it has ripped the corner of it out - ie has broken round the stupid plastic clips. Cheers for the price too - I live 80k from the nearest dea,ler so will have to wait til I get a chance to go there - think I will risk it and pull it off for now

Mine has been off for over 2 years, no probs what so ever. I took it off as the main reason it's there is for sound deadening and in place it traps more of the underbonnet temps. Bit like a house with polished boards/tiles v's carpet, the carpeted house is always warmer.

I keep hoping that the poor guy with big slit in his throat would turn the tables, just ONCE, but alas he continues to have groundhog day!

If it's tuned you wont be getting any warranty.

If they keep breaking look for something stronger in aftermarket parts.
