Does anyone have an idea what would be causing the idel on my 2005 Series II XR6 Turbo Ute to be hunting up to 250 RPM once the car warms up? I have a CAPER box and tune but I have had that checked out and they say it is not the issue. Is it likely to be the Throttle Position Sensor?

1. Clean the throttle body with t/body/carby cleaner

2. Check for air leaks in the intake piping

3. Change your spark plugs

4. Change your coil packs.

5. Get the tune looked at by a decent tuner.

(ihmo that the order i would go about sorting the problem out)

mine used to hunt a little on idle ,and I need to check this more I have only drivin it once since , but I changed my battery for a high power one (oddysey ) and it idle's perfectly now

maybe it was just because I had the battery disconected for a few hours and the pc lost some of it's learned programs or the battery is holding the voltage more stable and helping with idle

refund your "CAPER" box and try a CAPA box??

try cleaning the throttle body out, if that's not gunna work get the TPS errors checked, if the car does it, take it straight to ford and DONT TURN IT OFF or the error doesnt show, I had this problem years ago.

Mine does a wierd thing after being on idle for a couple of minutes. Recently it was just like a suction/vibration , more noticeable when ac was on, but tonight it actually turned off.... any thoughts?

Follow hiddeous' steps mate, it should sort the problem, usually its the Throttle body, Use some carby cleaner and clean it out ;) Should be all good after then!
