Just thought you all might like to know a mate of mine has just recently taken his stock f6 in for a 15000 klm service. He took it to the boys at RDP, put it on the dyno the lads couldnt beleive it 1st run 379.1 then followed by a 381. They then put on a K&N air cleaner and it finished with 385 hp at the treads. That equates to 279+ RWKW.outstanding performace with only an after market air cleaner I say...

So they fitted a modified BF airfilter then as they aren't available for the FG yet.

Not bad but about average for the new F6.

Was it a manual or auto?

zf auto yeah not sure about the filter maybe a modified BF one .They a said most they have had in are around 340-350hp.He said they asked him how hard he push it and he said he has flogged it hard. They said the guys coming in with the 350 odd have been babying there cars, they also said that when it has done about 30000k it will probably have even more .

that's awesome power stock. They are bagded way under power, Ford obviously did that on purpose so they didnt make the v8s look so poor.

Obviously the guys that flog there cars build up points & so have that bit more power

Where as the guys that baby their cars dont have as amny points

Driver Recognition

A host of advanced features are accessible to the driver as part of the Driver Recognition software with the six-speed automatic transmission.

Driver Recognition matches transmission performance to the current driving style by considering acceleration and deceleration rates, brake and throttle applications, and cornering speed, to ensure the vehicle is in the right gear at the right time without undesired gear shifts.

The transmission ‘learns’ the driver's style and assigns a theoretical point system to certain driving scenarios to determine the activation point of particular features.

The point system extends from a “base” fuel economy bias (0 points), through stages such as “sporty” driver (100 points), up to “enthusiast” (200 points).

The transmission software recognises various performance-based actions, such as rapid acceleration / pullaways, enthusiastic cornering, pushing the accelerator pedal through the detent and moving the shift lever into performance mode, and increases the number of points accordingly.

By moving the shift lever across from adaptive to performance mode, the driver recognition function increases by 100 points instantly, making the advanced features more accessible. If the transmission had already learnt to 40 points in adaptive mode, then when the shift lever is pushed across into the performance mode it would become 140 points.

In performance mode, driver recognition can learn from “sporty”, representing 100 points, up to “enthusiast” (200 points).

Points can be gathered quickly as increases occur in blocks, while a more graduated, single point decrease in the score occurs when you return to a less sporty driving style.

Not true. The points system in the gearbox is all about the shift time, etc. Has nothing to do with engine power.

The guys that 'flog' their car have a better run in engine that's all.

Shows how much know about the ZF.

Suppose the diffrence would tell on the track

You're right I don't know much about the zf transmission, but I do know how an engine works.

What are you implying?

Are you trying to say that if you removed an engine from an auto and a manual equipped car of the same amount of kms there would be a great amount of horsepower difference?

I doubt it.

The transmission is a coupling between the engine and the the rear end of the car. In no way does the transmission affect engine output, unless the zf transmission has exceeded it's normal operating paramaters and the ecu intervenes and shuts down power accordingly.

But on the track I reckon a manual equipped car with the same driver would be quicker.

There is an "I" omitted from my previous post. My bad

"Shows how much I know about the ZF"

Im saying that the diffrence would be told on the 1/4 possibly

So a ZF with more points might possibly get down the 1/4 for eg 0.1 quicker than one with less points

And obviously a run in engine will perform better as you just said.
