A mate of mine is now building engines too, works for Top Torque Engines here in Melb, so things like valve springs will be nice & cheap. He's gonna look into what other head work can be done cheap while its off!

And when it's time for mt forged motor, I might save a bit too!

What do I need to do to the exhaust to get my 300kw? Apart from the cat obviously. Is the typhoon intake good enough, or do I need something better? And I found a Monza IC on ebay today for $450, will that do the trick?

Sorry, bout all t he questions!

I would love the plazmaman kit, but as I've decided to aim for a bit less power, Im not sure if it's worth spending so much money & the plazmaman cooler doesn't look like it can be used with the stock cross over piping & airbox.

Thanks Scotty, I hadn't even started looking at suspension & brake packages yet. But I do have the bigger rotors from a BF on it & it's been lowered.

It has major brake shudder, so its getting new pads & rotors this week. The shocks are also a bit tired, so I'm thinking a pedders sportsryder kit might be next.

you can use all the BIG coolers with the stock crossover mate... you just need to purchase the piping kit to suit.

that way in the "future" you can upgrade to 11ty billion killawatts.

Perfect then, I'll keep an eye out for a 2nd hand plazmaman cooler, but I'll probably end up with a new one.

I like this car more & more every day! If I wanted to upgrade my v8 Late model camira from 300 to 11ty billion kilowatts I would have had to throw trhe engine in the bin and start all over again. I've been working on the theory that I would have to go all the 1st time round, or do it twice!

So what about the exhaust then? Just a cat for now, or do the lot???

Do the cat as it is quite restrictive stock. Also consider removing the centre muffler with straight throughs or hot dogs. Won't add a heap of power but will sound heaps better. First mod for some.Cheap to

just cat will do ,,,But

I'm looking at a ces racing unit at the moment , what they call a starter pack ,it's a twin dump pipe , 31/2 in cat and a section of pipe that will bolt to the first join on the factory system , around $1500 -$1600

Twin dump into a 3.5 inch cat into the factory system is a rip. sorry you can do better than that.

Why would you try and squeeze the exhaust gasses from a a twin dump into a restictive 3.5 inch cat ??

Curious as to the twin dump and the benefits however

they have done a lot of testing and have a very good name backed by independant tests

and I will upgrade to the rest of their system down the track

the cat is a custom design by them and the starter kit alone has givin a 29rwkw gain over a factory unit on a stock car .

the full system has givin a 40+ rwkw gain on a stock car but is around 3k I think

so I'm keen to give the starter pack a go first ,
