Help! Xr6t Something Is Definately Wrong!

Car: 2004 BA MKII XR6T Ute

Ok well it started a little while back I noticed that I was getting large backfiring noises from the exhaust and pretty much through the 2.5-4000 rpm range the car was hell jolty in which it felt like it was coming off boost and was backfiring. The car sometimes runs really, really well but ive noticed that this is becoming more consistant!, was jus wondering if anyone else has had the same problems? im gunna take it to the mechanic but jus thought that people could throw someideas out if they hav had the same problem?.

I have read a few threads on here and sounds lyk it could be blocked cat? or dead spark plugs? the car when it is jolting hell feels lyk it is coming off boost and performance is definately lost.

I would start at the spark plugs and coils

if its backfiring under acceleration its pinging badly

could be for a number of reasons

see mechanic before it bends a rod, if it hasn't done it already

had a similar problem last week that progressively got worse, turned out to be just plugs breaking down, all good now. :biggthumpup:
