I have to say im with Senna on this one...

The fuel usage varies so far depending on your method of driving each second...

AFAIK - the others are all averages.. Yes there will be some delay in the instant as well (about 1 sec)...

I reset the trip computer and the average fuel/distance on each trip... and normally am lucky if I get the avg fuel below 16.5lt/100, typically fill up around the 80km warning and typically get about 330kms' from roughly 55ltrs +/- ...

Lets say - (give or take)

16.5 * 3.4(100's) = 56lts somewhere..

(3.4 allowing for the extra I go over till fill up from the 80km beep)

So - Each time I fill up and it reads - 380km's till empty, is fairly close...

Considering I have roughly 10 lts left and 60 km's to travel...

60kms/10lts = 16.5'sih...

BTW this is scrible on a post it note, and off the top of my head.. so I think its right! :dontknow:

I would feel safe with a 10% error for margin - however I know that I have been on the hume with the 0 flashing and beeping, and still got about another 35kms out of the car before I pulled into a servo... cant remember what it took to fill up, think it was about 62 maybe from memory... was months ago now but!

It's well documented that the fuel senders on some of the FGs are a bit ordinary, so your best bet is to speak with the friendly dealer. Apparently there were quite a few cars that came off the line with bent sender arms or something.

The fuel used should be pretty close as it works off the injector pulse, as does the instantaneous consumption. Everything else is just an edumacated guess really.

What smoke from the back end and sliding around corners isnt normal? The dealer told me to drive it hard, just like it was designed too...

Man - 500km's that's like a wet dream for me in the F6... :rain: I can only wish I would get that... Not even on the highway when I did the run to Albury not long after I got it... (was close but only when I went over the 0 and kept driving)...

But on a serious note, I dont drive that hard... In fact the past 2 months I have hardly driven at all!

Most of the driving is short distance, so stop start stop start...

If im lucky ill get it down to 12's when doing a few trips on the M2...

Maybe I have something wrong??? :nono:

He drives in first gear alot.

Yep - STUCK IN FARKING TRAFFIC!!! :roflmbo:

My Fuel Used seems to be fairly accurate too, my gauge on the other hand is not (G6ET).

I also think (believe it or not, I read the manual!) the Range is based on your 'average economy' so driving hard for example when you're already in Range 80km territory shouldn't make a huge difference as it won't hugely impact the average economy, only the instant. Could be wrong of course, it's been known to happen on occasion!

From what I can tell based on my car though, while the Range is based on average economy (ie from the Trip Computer), I suspect it uses the fuel gauge to estimate how many litres are left (as opposed to subtracting Fuel Used from 68 litres) and then works out range based on average economy. That can be the only explanation, unless they somehow installed a 52 litre tank in my car!

Am taking it in soon for 3000 klm service so touch wood should get fixed.
