will I also need to get a better battery and possibly new alternator after this system is put in?

Question? hehehe :roflmbo:

Mate - a better batters 'can' help, however is not necessary in most cases...

I cant see anything that you have spoken about running yet that would 'need' you to buy a new battery, however if u want to spend the $$$ then go for it!

Just make sure either way that you have 'really good' solid grounding points!

And correctly fused and run cables with the right gauge to suit your system...

I think a capacitor can help with the headlight issue.. I have a 2 Farad cap, and nothing dimms when my system pumps...

ghia, I was thinking of doing the same areas you have covered, glad to hear it does make a big difference. was it difficult to do? (inside the doors etc)

and for the boot lid,did you create a trim piece as there is no trim covering the boot lid?? (in mine anyway)

do you have any photos?

im presuming you purchased the dynamat trunk kit, was it plenty to cover everything you needed?

It wasn't difficult to do, you get your hands cut ut a bit, mostly in the tricky areas I used cardboard/paper to get the shapes right first then apply it.

I bought the boot lid carpet (it was in fairmonts etc) and it looks waaaay better now, here is the thread you can see my pics in

FYI I used a Rockford Fosgate 360.1 convertor in my install

Here's the thread relating to how I installed my HU.

Otherwise the route that Mika took is another good option.

Soory I just realised I didn't answer your question. I used a Extreme Bulk Pack pf Dynamat.

On your other question about a battery. I got an Optima when I did my install, my battery was on the way out so I figured it was a good time to upgrade. Never missed a beat (and I've had them in all past 3 cars)

ghia, I cant actually see your boot lid liner in the pics from your install

where did you pick one up from?

as you said you used the extreme pack, they have a trunk kit which I found on ebay:

will this be sufficient?

You could pay that extravagant amount of money.

Or, buy this stuff.

Same result for half the price.
