December 3, 200817 yr Hey, Just wondereing when I turn my standerd radio/cd's up, they automatically reduce in sound. so if I turn up the bass the volume gets turned down by itself. I dont have standered speakers either.
December 3, 200817 yr Author I dont know lol.let me explain myself a bit better, as I was in a rush with the last post.when I had 4 standard speakers, when I turned the radio or cd's up, pretty loud, the Radio and Cd's automatically reduce in volume by them selves. I had bought new 4 speakers, installed them, and it still does it. I really dont want to buy a head unit either. its just annoying, you want to enjoy your song and let everybody else enjoy it too, but it just turns itself down. Also is it possible to install an Amp and/or sub going off the standard Headunit? Thanks in advance Edited December 3, 200817 yr by redragon
December 3, 200817 yr Yeah I got you the first time...check to see if either of those things are turned on before going any further. Hopefully it's just a setting on your stereo. From the manual...Power LimitingRotate the volume control counter clockwise to enable power limitingand counterclockwise to disable Power limiting. Power limiting is afeature that limits the amount of distortion at high volume levels to lessthan 10% THD (total harmonic distortion). The unit will, when it detectsthat the signal is distorted, reduce the volume thereby maintaininghigh quality sound at all volume levels. This feature can be disabled, which will enable the volume to be increased, but at a higher level ofdistortion.CD Compression (where fitted)CD compression reduces the dynamic range of the CD by reducingthe amplitude of high level signals and increasing the amplitude of lowlevel signals. Compression is useful in car audio systems when thedynamic range of CD’s exceeds that of the listening environment. Atypical car audio system will play a maximum level of about 105dBSPL (Sound Pressure Level). Road and engine noise at 100 km/h canbe around 70dB SPL, leaving an acoustic dynamic range in-vehicle of35dB SPL. On a CD with a dynamic range of 80dB, the soft passagesof the disc will not be audible above the acoustic road and enginenoise. By compressing the CD signal and more closely matching thedynamic range of the vehicle, quiet passages can once again beheard. Rotate the volume control clockwise to enable compressionand counter clockwise to disable compression.
December 3, 200817 yr In the same menu as bass, treble, fade etc...So press the menu button until it appears
December 3, 200817 yr im surprised u havnt seen this wen adjusting base and wat not. its in with those settings. bass trebble balance CD COMP POWER LIMITING.
December 3, 200817 yr just leave the power limiting on. its only going to sound horrible any louder because the system has run out of power to drive the speakers.
December 4, 200817 yr How f*cking loud do u need it to be? If I turn up my standard system up to about 25 its pretty much unbearable
December 6, 200817 yr with my power limiting on or off about 18 is as high as it goes before it sounds bad. the power limiting just wont let it get any louder. but it was never loud and quailty enough so I upgraded the whole system
