Bf Xr6t Short Engine

I am looking at buying a built up short engine, and was wondering if anybody knows how much a stock BF short engine would be worth, as I will sell my old one, has 53k on it at the moment, any help would be appriciated.

What build month is your engine mate? If its after 06/2006 then you have the stronger bottom end, and I would ask around $1800 for a used one, however if it is before 06/06 then it is the same as a BA motor and not as valuable to buyer in the know.

New short motors are around $2500 from ford, its really up to you how much you want to sell yours for though.

it is a BF mk I I got it the day they released them so not the good bottom end. do u rekon $1000 is streaching it. be a good upgrade for a NA person looking to force it.

You should get $1000 for it quite easily mate & that'd atleast pay for fitting & gaskets when swapping them out

yeah that's what I am hopeing for, pay for all that little sh*t, then it is time to save for a big turbo

If you're gonna go bigger turbo you might want to re-think the BF II short engine mate. They're fine upto & aroung 380rwkw but anything over that is living on borrowed time IMO. For an extra few thousand dollars you might as well build a proper bottom end using your existing block & crak to save pulling out/stripping/building again 6 months down the track. Just my 2 cents...

Or get a good secondhand atomic short for cheap and put some quieter pistons and new bearings in. I may have one if you need it lol.
