Hi guys,

My new ute has a knock in the rear and was wondering if anyone else has it.

The only time I get it is after applying the brakes then accelerate. Its a quick knock but I can feel it through out the car.

Sounds like its coming from the drivers rear.

I sat in the garage with the hand brake up while going into reverse and forward but there is no noise which sort of rules out the tail shaft.

My only guess is that it is diff or suspension related but if its the diff it should be doing it more often.

Cheers

Adrian

that's ford utes for you :) once you know its "normal" you tend to forget about it and not realise its there anymore.. however new passengers may say WtF is that lol, that's when you just drill the right foot down so they can't hear it anymore hehe.

nice ride mate!

Adrain,

Check the U bolts that secure the diff to the springs and the spring mounting bolts from and rear on each spring. They loosen up as the rubbers wear, this allows the diff to walk around on the springs and knock. The loose spring mounts/hangers allow the springs to slide sideways and knock on the hangers and mounts
