Fg Xr6t Problem

hi I just wanted to know if any body has any problems with the rear axle in the fg xr6t. I took my car down to the drags last week and I took off from the line with launch assist, I got a sh*t load of axle tramp then went about 20 metres and the drivers side rear axle snapped. ford is still deciding wheather or not to cover it with warranty

How many revs had you stalled it up to??

You didnt tell them you did it at the drags did you?

I had it stalled up to the standard 3500rpm with launch assist. I didnt tell ford that I was down at the drags. I just cleaned of all the rubber and took it in and said that it snapped while using launch assist

id be pissed if its not covered after all they installed launch assist into the car from factory ?

lets see how long it takes untill ford flash the computer so you cant use launch assist above 2000rpm or something once a few more brake some more parts

id say its covered because launch control is there and to be used as Trevs said it comes out factory with it

Did you drop the clutch or feed it out mate? Much axle tramp?

I just dropped the clutch because that's what it says in the manual and I did have alot of axle tramp

That axle tramp sounds very unhealthy when it happens. It does sound like something is going to break.

Hopefully this will prompt Ford to make some decent axles/cv's that will be standard fitment from now on??
