Ha guys,

driving to work this morning, had a bit of a problem with the car.

Rolling to a set of traffic lights the car started running ruf as, and the ETC light came on in the dash.

rolled to the side of the road and turned the car off, to read the manual to see what it meant.

Throttle Fault Sensor, re-started the car and all is good and drove fine.

Have the car booked in tommorrow to be looked at.

has anyone else had this problem, what was the curse.

Had noticed that the car for the last couple of days didn't have quite the same performance

Could be the Throttle Position Sensor AJJ. There were a few instances of it needing to be replaced, but sometimes they just need a clean or re-cal. Try hopping in the car, putting your foot flat to the floor on the accelerator and then turn the key to start the car. It won't start, but rather re-calibrate the Throttle Position. This might help, but if you have it booked in you might as well take it there

I'd try what Senna said & make your booking for next week. If they don't find anything wrong while it's in there, you have to pay for their time as warranty wont cover it... Correct??

I'm not sure, just assumed being part of the workings of the car and not a general maintenance item that it would be covered by warranty. Thou true if they don't find anything even thou a code appeared, I guess you have to pay them to have a look.

How does warranty work, say your gearbox went.

Do you pay for the serviceman doing the work, and ford picks up the cost of the gearbox.

Or does warranty cover everything and you have no out of pocket expences?

Unsure never really used it.

going away for the wkend just don't want there being any drama's, and stuck far from home.

So I just have them look at it, make sure there is nothing going on.

I guess after reading some of the issues others have had, I will get told the car is working correctly

and it was in my head

Anything that they accept as warranty work shouldn't cost you a cent; the dealer gets reimbursed for their expenses and labour costs from Ford.

Of course they will try and get you to pay for as much as they can as they can rip you off more than they can get out of head office! Park brake adjustment is a classic example, most places refer to it as a wear and tear item, while some dealers will do it under warranty if they like you or you make a big enough scene.

Hi

Is there any news on the tps?

I have had this same problem.....the first time something played up I took off in first bit of a hurry then was crusing and then realised the speedo wasnt working so pulled over turned the car off and then back on and it was fine......then later that nite booted it again taking off and then realised the speedo wasnt working again then etc light came on and car went into limp mode, just turned the car off while rolling and back on and it was fine....hasnt done it since.....I have always been sus on the tps though cos it is slow to react and when you back off the bov doesnt open straight away there is a big flutter then bov opens.....I have tried the start the car with foot on da floor but always the same.....thinking might have to go back to fraud and get it looked at.....only problem is my ute is running 350kw.....dont think warranty will work...ha
