Negative Camber

Featured Replies

#1

I've had my T ute lowered for a while now and have noticed pretty bad wear on the front tyres (inner) due to the negative camber. Will a wheel alignment/ toe in/out fix this or should I invest in a camber kit as well?

What is everyone else doing? done?

Camber kit is needed to get rid of it properly mate

Whats that go for these days? Anyone know?

yep, likely camber kit. however it might be possible to get enough adjustment stock...you will need to go to a good suspension shop.

im going the other way.......I have 1.5 deg neg all round and its wearing very evenly....in fact, front passenger side is scrubbing sidewall on the track.....I will go to -3 deg all round soon!

Hanra, last time I checked a camber kit was around $450-500 installed with alignment.

Rob - I don't think there is really any adjustment in the front, only toe in/out. The rear on a sedan however does have adjustment I believe. BTW -3!!!!

Yes there is mate, you can play with the shims.....less shims more neg, more shims more positive camber.

Oh yeah, with shims there is, but I don't believe the stock suspension has any adjustment

the stock suspension has shims.....well, they do on BF2s at least. I pulled mine out and gained 1 deg negative camber.

hmmmmm.... righto, I'll shut-up!

when I had my ute lowered they put some shims in but couldnt get enough out of it, so a couple of weeks later I got them to put in a pedders camber kit, came to $250 fitted with a wheel alignment...
