I'm looking to pick up a BF turbo preferably with the 6 speed. So far I have found a few (Perth) around the place between 25-$30k although a lot have high kms e.g. 60-70,000kms. My question, am I asking for trouble buying a 06 model BF with this kind of kms What kind of things should I be on the look out for. Most 06 XR cars still have the factory warranty which is pretty good. Cheers, Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/45180-bf-xr6-t-with-highish-kms/ Share on other sites

Also, any car with that sort of kilometers will most likely have done them on the open road, rather than be done in the city like a Taxi!Check all the usual stuff like overspray from bad repairs, brake shudder and squeal, any rattles etc etc.The BF's are pretty tough, so they should be ok, you can always get an inspection done on it too Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/45180-bf-xr6-t-with-highish-kms/#findComment-670983 Share on other sites

Is it 60,000km of thrashed ex-copper km as opposed to 60,000km of cruising to work? There are a few cheaper BF XR Turbo's going around all ex-copper.... hulk xr6t Member 160 Member For: 17y 7m 1d Posted 06/05/08 11:18 PM Share Posted 06/05/08 11:18 PM Id be wary of cop cars. I know they service them but years ago I bought a Late model camira VS ex chaser. It ran fine....When I took it into a smash repairer to get a body kit installed, under the special lights they have in the booths, they could see there was two or three different areas that had been repaired and the colour matching wasnt great..that's an ex copper for ya, take all the signage off, slap it together again, there are probably a few little hits n bumps repaired...Id pay the extra 2k or so and get a non ex copper car even if its got more km..
