March 27, 200818 yr Nice easy question there guys, how much benefit do you get from installing a under drive to the turbo?turboknapp
March 27, 200818 yr I don't really know for sure why, but I saw this discussed on another forum and its not worth the money was the conclusion........
March 27, 200818 yr Author the idea of a under pulley is to replace the existing crankshaft pulley with a smaller one, they are designed as a performance enhancer to increase torque and power. This is acheived by reducing parasitic drag caused by belt driven accessories like air conditioning, power steering and alternators. The power increases are optained because the drive is lighter and smaller compared to the factory one, the power range can be variable depending on what the car is.Hope that has answered the questionturboknapp
March 27, 200818 yr I know there has been a test done on this for the power gained on a standered BF xr6t with the 6 speed auto. I am not sure of the gain it might pay to get nosxr a pm or ring C & V performance as they were the workshop were the test had been completed.
March 27, 200818 yr doesn't it have a benificial effect because it reduces rotating mass?Hmmm I guess that' wouldn't make more power though... better response? How much less weight is it?
March 28, 200818 yr Author While it does provide beneficial effect it can also have its down falls, if the drive is to small it can cause those auxiallry drives to run a little slower eg your alternator can have reduced charging so your lights can dim ar idle or low revs or the power steering can be a tad slower. As for being lighter not sure how much more it is, that's why I started this post to get some professional helpturboknapp
