Hard launches with sticky tyres, gears changes and if this what gear changes. Are people breaking shafts just with stock compound rear tyres driving on the street (but big power). Thought I was dead hahahhahahToms broke when changing into 3rd with Slicks on and 530rwk at the drags. It’s near on impossible on most street tires to break the shaft unless they are real sticky or you have enough weight in the back to hold traction. I doubt you would ever break one by launching in first or second due to gear ratios but the higher gears and the torque is what hurts the shaft if you can get the tires to stick. Or are you talking about something else? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/43091-zf-service/page/2/#findComment-639980 Share on other sites

Or are you talking about something else?Yep, mine too. It changes nice and firm depending on throttle position, and certainly much firmer than stock. From what I've seen (some of) the tables for the trans are accessible from edit. It will spin on the change into third if I want, and that's good enough for me. I can't see the ZF having any problems coping with grunt up to the limits of a stock bottom end if the edit is set up properly. I paid to get it serviced and it still slips at WOT on the 3 to 4 shift.Looks like the clutch packs are shagged. Mind you it performs very well in the lower gears at full noise so it’s a bit weird. Performing well in the lower gears makes me thinks its more software based then heavy wear and tear, but that’s just a guess I really don’t know.As for my thoughts on the ZF. Great box but when power raisers above 300RWKWs in standard for I cant possibly see how any of them can hold up. My car has never been on a race track or drag strip and I drive it with heaps of respect, so I leads me to believe it’s just a matter of time before these box’s give up the ghost in standard trim over 300RWKW’s.I know guys claim they are running even bigger power then 370RWKW’s in standard trim.If this is the case how many KMS do they have on their boxes as mine did perform well for the fist 12000 KMS. It now has 18000 on it. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/43091-zf-service/page/2/#findComment-643192 Share on other sites

If so could well be software related Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/43091-zf-service/page/2/#findComment-643580 Share on other sites
