Hey that's not bad... Nice and waterproof? What did that set you back? Self install? On the ego finish and black surround of tub it should blend in nicely. Is that a BF? Also can you just buy the coded plugs to fill the holes left by the tie down points?

I guess I'm tossing up between roller and hard lid, cost being a big factor as the roller styles are quite a bit more, in saying that they are ALOT more practical, even if they are not as flash looking.

Felix, Mine is BA MK 11, waterproof and has four drain points underneath. Cost me about $1800.00 at the time , not cheap and dont know how price compares with other types of lids but I guess it comes down to how you are going to use your ute. For my work it is really practical as it opens right up for good access all round and is very secure also. Dont know about self installation as I had mine fitted . You would have to talk to supplier for info. Like Mr Man said Ford can supply plugs to suit.

I'll have a look to see if I have pics, it opens about the same as the oem lid.

a mate and I installed it (I mostly supervised lol)

its on a BA MKii

works with the oem tubliner, mounts pretty much the same as a factory job

I got the grommits painted by a panel shop

Sweet, pics would be great. Its only for tool storage, not for working out of, and I have no interest in ladder racks (only carry a 6 footer in the tray). How hard is it to take off for the odd large item move?

So only $200 or so difference between the two types. I like the look of the Leaseback, but the practicality of the Roller. In saying that, if I'm not working out of the Ute, I guess looks can play a larger part.

found a couple of pics

its the same to take off as the owm item, just undo the two gas struts and lift off.

mine comes off regularly in winter to put my dirt bike in the back, takes a max of 5 mins to get it off.

Any pics? Did you do the install yourself? How far does it open in comparison to the OEM lids? Is this on a BF, as in is it compatible with the OEM tub liner?

Regarding the grommets, how do you paint them?

I did the install for him. It opens higher than the OEM lids, having had a BF one and a laserback myself I can vouch for this. Much lighter, and AU-BF tubs are the same and as Mr Man said it is compatible with the OEM tub liner. 2 People can take it off as it is large but it is light. Install is fairly easy and the little plugs you get from Ford spare parts are already painted.

Price wise I think the last time I quoted one it was like 1700 odd but don't hold me to that.

Well that seals it for me, I think I can get them from supercheap, I might be able to get a discount to. Then I can go ahead and build my internals to suit. Thanks for the input guys.

it has 3 locking points instead of the two that the factory lid has

It has 3 locking points, one in the centre, and one on either side all activated by 1 centered lock and key.

I tend to disagree!

look at the pic, the centre is where the lock turns, that's not a "locking point".

it locks on the left and right sides just like a stocker.

if it was a 3 point lock it would have a tab coming off the tail-gate!
