Fuel Pump Questions

Hey,

I want to upgrade my fuel pump.

What's the most rwkws people have been getting before they had to upgrade the fuel pump?

Is it a big job?

Personally I don't think changing the pump is hard in a ute. Just takes a bit of time and depending on how you do it a bit of help.

It can be done a few ways...

- Removing the entire tub, which isn't as hard as you might think.

- Removing the tub liner and drilling out the front panel to uncover the fuel tank.

- Removing the tailshaft and moving the diff to drop the fuel tank.

I have found the standed one to be inconsistent, sometimes 300rwks, (with injectors) sometimes they get lazy way earlier.

it is a bigger job then a sedan, but the main thing that peaple stuff up, is you have to put the proper submursible fuel hose in it.

What steps are taken in removing the tub liner and drilling out the front panel to uncover the fuel tank?

Removing the liner is very easy. There are 12 bolts along the top inside of your liner. Unbolt them, unscrew about 5 screws at the rear of the liner near the tailgate and lift the liner out.

I used a 10mm drill bit to drill the spot welds out on the panel covering up the fuel tank. Then tec screwed it back into place.

Great pics... I've got the slim t-rex fuel pump from capa. which line would I use on top of the tank to hook the pump up to?
