How Do You Use The Signature?

I have been wondering how one goes about creating one of those fantastic signatures that some members have on their posts. I haven't done anything with HTML and am a little confused by the page where you put it together. Do I need to upload the image/text to a website and link to it? I also tried adding an avatar but it told me to bugger off! What size/dimensions do the images need to be?

You need to use an imaging program such as Photoshop or Corel Draw to create your signature / avatar.

Then you need to upload it to the web somewhere.

Then you can use the

[img] url.of.pic/jpg [/img]

syntax in your profile options for your signature.

With regards to your avatar, I haven't tried uploading an avatar, I just link to it like my signature (as above).

Do the images need to be of a certain size? Or is it automatically reduced when you link it?

You need to resize it yourself when you link to it.

Try not make your Avatars larger than 64 x 64, and your signatures larger than 468x60

Avatars must be 64x64 size.

The coloured signature must be no larger then 468x60.

I don't have my own web site or access to a public web server?

You could upload it to your photo album and then link to it.

Just don't put it in the main photo gallery sections.
