Carputer

Hi well recently I have been thinking about doing my carputer project on my new beast but after having a look around the forums I still have a few small questions. The deck is the premium one and I will be getting Centrafuse to run on XP.

1. Where do I get the touch screen overlays? Can I get them in Australia?

2. For the video do I need anything else apart from the VGA to CGA RGB converter?

3. Do I need the Sat Nav to be able to play video through it?

4. How do I turn the signal on and off so that I can choose between my normal screen and the comp?

5. To have FM Radio through the Comp what do I need?

6. The CarNetix CNX-P2140 how does it work with the mini ATX boards and with the video converter?

Any help is highly appreciated

1. Google touchscreen overlay kit or something similar.

2. No.

3. The SatNav is part of the Centrafuse software so no additional video hardware/software is needed.

4. The video cable from the converter to the ICC needs to have a switch wired into it to turn the overlay on/off.

5. Not sure, I just use the radio on the ICC.

6. It has more than one power output. Different voltages can be set for the outputs. The video converter is 5V.

Here's a thread on my car computer...

I have a wireless mouse.

Takes me less time to change songs with that than it does with a CD.

that would be hilarious to see someone pull a wireless mouse out of their console and start playing with it to change songs at a set of lights! :spoton:

You'd never see it. I just use it on my leg. If I have a passenger they use it.

A touchscreen is on the "to do list" but at $500 I'm in no hurry with xmas just around the corner.

hey - if it sounds stupid and it works, it aint stupid :spoton:
