Car Drops Revs, And Some Times Stalls When I Put It In Park

hey guys

my recently purchased fairmont seems to drop revs to about 250rpm after I've been driving it and select park when I've reached my destination. I'm not overly fussed, because usually when I've selected park, it means I wanna turn the car off anyways Unless of course I'm hopping out to open the garage like today.

It doesn't happen if I've just started the car, or re-started the car.. only if I've been driving around a little bit. Sometimes it stalls, other times it doesn't.. but it always drops revs when I put it in park.

Any ideas??

The usual sticky throttle body maybe? has it been serviced recently, may need a flash?

it's due for a service in a few thousand kms.. so I'll mention it then. I was thinking throttle body.. Nothing major as of yet, and it doesn't drop revs when in drive, so it can't be anything too major! *touch wood*

It could be that one of the many vacumn hoses has come off... I noticed one of mine had come off recently and at exactly the same time I had put it back on it would stall and act up a bit... I then disconnected the hose and it went back to normal. Not wanting to drive around with a vacumn hose off I reconnected the hose and flashed the original 98RON tune in and the car is back to normal. It's all perfect.

I might have to have a look around and see if I can see anything out of place.. geez the engine bay looks bare and empty without a turbo!!

That's why I think I might get a V8 again... atleast it will fill the engine bay. I promise I won't mod this one.

I thought of a V8 too, but finding a decent second hand one was the trick!

I reckon a fairmont V8, with a few minor mods would be awesome

I've already thought of a flash tune for a little extra grunt But I think I'll leave her be, and save my money for my next XR6T/XR8 or whatever I decide to buy in the next few years!
