14/09/07 11:31 AM14/09/07 11:31 AM #1 I haven't had my T long and only recently it has developed a clicking noise (coming from what I think is the steering rack) when I turn the wheel. It only seems to do it when I'm going slow (that is the only time I can hear it anyway). Does anybody know what this could be?? Should I be worried??Cheers in advance Edited 14/09/07 11:32 AM14/09/07 11:32 AM by deadlydave86

14/09/07 05:27 PM14/09/07 05:27 PM #6 I've gotta 06 BF1 T ute and I also have this problem.. I find it does it turning slow, reverse parking etc... I took it to ford not long after buying it and they did something to it.. I can't remember, (have to look through my reciepts to find out exactly) but yea, didn't fix the problem. Its a real pain to hear it on a car that's not even 2 years old :fear (5):
14/09/07 08:49 PM14/09/07 08:49 PM #8 Yeah its a known problem. My last car had it('03 T ute) and the dealers fixed it. Something to do with the rack shims. I think theres a TSB out for it...
14/09/07 11:22 PM14/09/07 11:22 PM #9 Author Thanks for the replying guys.My car is a '02 so it is not under warranty. Does anyone know what ford actually does as I might be able to give it a go myself. It would be good if I could do it myself you know save some cash.Cheers

It is a pretty easy job to do but I don't think ford charge much anyway. They will supply you with the shims if you want to DIY. Hope that helps
