im surprised someone hasnt come up with a box that isnt vin locked so the tuner can just keep the box and use it on different cars

Then Capa/SCT would start to charge license fees for each car tuned, like some other forms of car tuning software companies do.

that's what the sniper system does you just buy what they call a bullet for $300 I think it is

as for retuning it doesn't cost you full price of the original tune when it needs adjusting ,the hard works all done you just need the tune adjusted to suit what you have changed

and the car still keeps its own hardware so it will adjust for higher temp's etc that's why you need a good intercooler otherwise you lose power as temps rise and the car removes timing from the motor
