245/35/zr19 Tyres

[SV300]

Has anyone had experience with these two tyres on the Typhoons/XR's?

Iv'e had the K104's before on the clubby, but wanted to know also about its use on the high torque cars.

Any feedback on the Kumho Escta KU31's? Both are around the same price.

K104's are sh*thouse! And if the Khumos my wife had 2 years ago are anything to go by, they turned hard as glass after 12months.

I use Hankook K107

On the weekend just gone, Trough lolly was down and needed some tyres for the rear. 275/30/19. Rang around, the best deal he could get on k104 and k107 was 340 and 480 each. The bloke I use, 320 and 365 each!

He went for the 107's and had to admit they were bloody good value for the money, and did pretty well in transferring 300rwkws.

Thanks for that. I had the K104's (235/40/ZR18) and I thought they were ok.

You need to remember that there are different verion of the same tyre. Bob Jane are advertisiing the MAX-1 in 245/35/ R19 which I would guess is a H rated tyres, but in other countries its a ZR rating with appreciably better grip.

The K107 specs look good.

I would like some info on the KU31's in 245/35/ZR19.

Price for me on these is $240 ea.

I have had k104's on mine, and personally I think they are crap. gay wet weather grip.

I now have falken fk452's and I think they are heaps better than the k104's

ring around to all the tyre shops. last month jax were having a special on 245/35/19 falken fk452 for $300. call them up and see if they still have some in stock.

cant comment on the 104's but I just had KU31's fitted on the rear in 265/30/19 for $250 each from Tempe tyres in syd (they are cheap) best price I could get was $375

They hold my 286rwkw street tune with 680nm no problem even 1st WOT and they have only done 20km on them

Got K104's on my car now and they are as Envy-T said, sh*thouse. Traction is an absolute joke, even at above 100km on some road surfaces, and my car is not that powerful.

my bro had k104's on his n/a xr6 with decent amount of tread and it would wheel spin on takeoff at half throttle.. what a joke. apparently they go hard after time.

he's got ku31's on it now and they're great.. no wheel spin issues.

cost him about 290 for the rears 275/30/19's..

only problem is now the left guard hits the tyre over bumps, that never happened with the 275 K104's.. maybe the actual tyre is fatter or something??

but yeah, the ku31's kill the k104's.
