Notice the past tence there?!It was brought to my attention in this thread that premium sound was made standard on the 1st of July. My contract was signed on the 25th of July, when they happily charged me $1000 for the premium sound. Finding this out about half an hour ago, I went to the ford website to check the specs, and it seems that Dual Climate Control, along with the 18" XR8 wheels are also now standard. Can anyone shed any light on the date that these items were made standard? If it was before I signed my contract, a certain ford dealer better look out tommorow. I would appreciate any help I can get with this! Thanks Guys, Michael "f*ck I hope they dont spit in my turbo after this" aka KryZak Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/37276-turbo-spec-upgrade/ Share on other sites

Dont matter what date you buy it, but it matters what you signed.Shyt they are not going to fit or pay for something that was not fitted into the vehicle you ordered and signed for. Also just be careful to anyone else buying a new car because all the dealerships will be working together to sell the old stock. And this even includes trading stock interstate so be real careful what you sign make sure that you state premium sound on whatever you sign or you could miss out. Just remember they are only there to sell you something (dont matter if it aint what you want they will sell it to you ) so slow down and all read and look at what you are signing. and yep I have been burnt enough to know Edited 07/08/07 04:32 PM by Dagabond Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/37276-turbo-spec-upgrade/#findComment-562140 Share on other sites

The car I ordered had a sunroof optioned, so it HAD to be built from scratch. So it's compliance date would be somewhere in the last few days. KryZak Member 91 Member For: 18y 27d Gender: Male Location: Perth, WA Posted 07/08/07 02:21 PM Author Share Posted 07/08/07 02:21 PM As far as I was lead to believe, it was being built. There was not a conquer one with a sunroof anywhere. Thanks, I will see how I go. I havent asked for these things as such, but if they are standard fitment at the time of me ordering the car, I think I am entitled to get them, along with a credit for the $1k that I paid for the premium sound which should be standard fitment.I will contact my dealer tommorow and find out what the go is and post up here so that future people dont get caught!Cheers,Michael Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/37276-turbo-spec-upgrade/#findComment-562153 Share on other sites

I hope you have a win with all the extras they have now included. I was annoyed that I just missed out on getting the luxury pack cause I was 2 weeks early with my order. KryZak Member 91 Member For: 18y 27d Gender: Male Location: Perth, WA Posted 08/08/07 05:39 AM Author Share Posted 08/08/07 05:39 AM Well I spoke to Ford Customer Relationship Centre today. They informed me that the spec upgrade was as of the 1st of July 2007. I also spoke to my dealer. He informed me that my car was built to the new spec, but he didnt find this out until last wednesday. He was going to leave it as a surprise until I called him and ruined it! I wont get the $1k I payed for the premium sound back though, because he said that the quote was based on pre-01/07/07 runout pricing where ford got a rebate or something. So at the end of the day, I have technically payed for a standard fitment, but without the runout rebates, the car would have cost an extra $2000, so this way im $1000 in front and the dealer is $1000 behind! Also, my car finished its paint stage today. I have no idea where that is on the build line, or how long until it is finished being built, but yeah!Cheers for the help guys,Michael Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/37276-turbo-spec-upgrade/#findComment-562253 Share on other sites

I had acustomer who ordered in early june, but the car didn't get built until july, lucky customer! As far as we have experienced Ford is doing the right thing by its customers, even if it means a slight delay, you'll find its more the dealers that want to clear old stock that stuff ppl around!
