June 2, 200719 yr #1 Hey all, I was at the shops to day when I spotted a guy perving on me xr turbo went over to him and he asked me if I had a turbo timer, becasue he blew his up, I was shocked and asked did he always give his car a hiding he replied no his car has done 105,000 km has anyone heard of more of these cases?
June 2, 200719 yr #2 bud, there is sh*t loads, read thru this site in the turbo section...must clean or replace oil screen so the turbo isnt starved of oil.stock BOV may fall apart and get sucked into turbo, cast crossover pipe may have flakes fall off and also get sucked into turbo... plenty of reading here bro...
June 2, 200719 yr #3 Author this guy said he was the first anyone has seen even garret came out and had a look he supposibly "melted the internals" of the turbo $2200 for the repair job
June 2, 200719 yr #4 These things probably need a turbo timer actually. Has anyone fitted one?:bsflag:
June 2, 200719 yr #5 Melted the internals? haha id like to see that, turbo timers are easy to fit, cant say ive ever done one on a ford but plenty of nissans usually around 4-5 wires plus a vac line

June 2, 200719 yr #7 Melted the internals? haha id like to see that, turbo timers are easy to fit, cant say ive ever done one on a ford but plenty of nissans usually around 4-5 wires plus a vac lineI can post a pic up of a melted exhaust wheel from a Typhoon if you don't believe this can happen. I don't think this was caused by not having a turbo timer though.
June 2, 200719 yr #8 I dont think its possible to melt your exhaust wheel by turning your car off without letting your car cool down as stated in the first post...
June 2, 200719 yr #10 Don't start this againWhat? Was a serious question. How about the EDIT, can that be detected?
