Expected 1/4 Mile With New Power?

Guys what do you think is capable for my au six wagon now? I had ported the head at home to kill time while I was sick. Recently it was finished and a bigger cam went in. Currently the power went up from 147 to 170 rwkws.

So what do you think? What 1/4 mile is likely?

I ran a 14.7 and back to back 14.8's with the 147 rwkws.

What sort of tyres did you run on for your 14.7? What was your 60ft? What tyres are you going to run on now?

A lot will depend on how much traction you can get off the line. You have 3.9's and a hi-stall don't you?

Great to hear your car is back and healthy, 170 is a killer figure for a AU I6.

Hi mate. I have 3.73 diff ratio.I had a single spinner diff and mickey thompson et streets. I am looking at some more power mods soon but the engine wont be touched either. 60 foot was 2.09

learn from my stuff ups mate, powers nothing when you can't get it to the ground, get a LSD and watch you times come down.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have a few ideas in my mind but I will be pioneering things that have never been dreamt of or considered on an au six.

Greg are you happy with those pacemakers? I saw your dyno readout.4:11 's should bring your power into a usable range.

That's the way to do it alright, you have to step out the norm and try different things. Sometimes they fail but that's a lesson learnt, but when it works and it takes you up to another level, there is nothing like it. So I am assuming that you HAD a single spinner and that you have a 3.73 with LSD. If so you can expect your 60 foot to drop, if you have an auto I can't recommend getting a hi-stall converter highly enough, drop some weight out as well, rip your seats out our cars are so heavy.

I had an lsd which was only single spinning.Now its been redone and definately does not single spinning. How bout suspension? What is ideal for better times?

Okay, good stuff. My original LSD did that, being fixed will help you for sure.

Suspension for good ET's? higher is better than lower as it allows the car to crouch down better when stalled to allow better weight transfer to the rear when launching, this pushes the rear tyres onto the ground giving you more grip. This is why my car hasn't been lowered.

Also 90/10 shocks on the front are the go for drag racing, as they allow the front to lift quickly at launch allowing even more weight transfer to the rear wheels and to slowly go down as you go along. You can't really drive on the street with them though.

The weather is great with cold of winter amongst us all...but I am nervous. I am not sure if the car is all that it can be..I want to run it .I dont know when...? The adrenalin is pumping ..the mickey tompson's are out of the shed and pumped up ready for the track. I want the car to be flawless when it goes but I am not sure what to expect. Its heaps faster and I have the jitters...whos ever heard of an AU six na wagon hunting for low 14's or even maybe 13's in normal dads car trim ?

165 to 170 rwkws...I hope they are good ones.. I should see the track in the next few weeks..wish me luck.

0-80 kmph legal stints have me 8 car lengths ahead of supercharged v6 commies and a car length on what appeared to be a 6.0 litre senator or caprice..
