Just had the 60,000 service done on the Hoffoon and noticed I was stung for new plugs. Asked the service manager why as I never had to chenge them on the previous XR6T.

Sure enough in the owners manual it says the spark plugs need changing every 30,000k, was news to the service manager too......I checked when back at home and they didn't change them back at the 30,000k service.

Do they need to be changed at 30 or 100k intervals on the BF F6's or even the povo XR6T's? :stupid:

Why are they different I wonder?

Seems the more you pay the less you get....

News to me.....

But then again I only got 40,000k's out of a set of front rotors......

The special F6 plugs probably cost a fortune too I imagine

I thought all the turbos ran Platinum plugs and were good for 100,000km, but if the manual says 30,000 then it must be right

Been looking through the Service Guide Book.

Every 105,000 Km Replace spark plugs ( XR6 Turbo only )

Every 150,000 Km ( V8 )

And for SEVERE / UNUSUAL CONDITIONS

Spark Plugs ( Turbo and 8 Cyl ) - Replace every 45,000Km under extreme conditions such as continuous heavy towing.

Depends on your power. In my stock T my plugs were stuffed at 35,000kms and was causing a misfire (only noticable on the dyno though noticable - ie lean spike). The plugs were stuffed mainly due to dirty fuel, so the stock T was running lean (low fuel pressure). I think its good insurance to change them every 30K at least. With a tune I use LPG plugs which were about $45 a set.
