April 9, 200719 yr #1 I have stripped the bike down as far as I can as this is the first time I have carried out these repairs and the bottom end is siezed. If anyone is able to help me out it would be greatly appreciated.I need to know what parts I need to complete the rebuild and some direction's on what to do.If anyone can rebuild an engine for a decent price or has a second hand engine in good condition I would consider those option's aswell thanks. It is a 91 KX 125.
April 9, 200719 yr #2 Whats seized.. Is it the crank?? Pitson stuck in the boar?If its one of these generally you will have to re build whe entire motor which will include the big end bearing, new conrod, both mains, New crank seals will be required new gaskets will be required. You will have to replace the little end bearing. new piston.. and depending in what type of boar you have will depend on weather you can boar is out or get it re sleaved.Re building a two stroke isnt the hardest thing to do.. The hardest part that I found was splitting the casings (hold eith end of the crank).
April 9, 200719 yr #3 Author I have got the piston out of the bore that was fine, but the rod is siezed on the crank!
April 9, 200719 yr #4 I have got the piston out of the bore that was fine, but the rod is siezed on the crank!Ok cool... Throw it away.. Best to start fresh.. Did it seize due to lack of use or lack of oil. IF you want it to last start fresh
April 9, 200719 yr #5 Author Ok cool... Throw it away.. Best to start fresh.. Did it seize due to lack of use or lack of oil. IF you want it to last start freshIt siezed due to a lack of oil in the fuel.So far I am looking at a crank kit and a piston and bearing kit. Is that all I need?I was also thinking about getting a new head.
April 9, 200719 yr #6 Why you want a new head??? has it been damaged.. You might just need to get it machined.Yeah the parts you listed should do it
April 9, 200719 yr #7 If the big end is seized on the crank pin get the crank stripped, New pin, big end bearing and possibly con rod depened on damage. You'l need a puller to spilt the cases. you need to press on the end on the crank to pull the crank bearing out of the case, when reassembling the cases warm them to around 180deg's and they'll fall back together.if you unsure pay somebody. a seized big end isn't as bad as it sounds.make sure that any cir clips you remove in the process get replaced. They can cause you a would of pain later on otherwise..... forgot to mention make sure who ever assembles the crank does a 100% joint on re straightening and aligning it.. April 9, 200719 yr #8 Author Looking at a US website I can get all the parts for AU$260 plus shipping.I would prefer to pay someone to do the motor work for me, I pretty much have the motor out only 3 main engine bolt's to go. The head and bore is off and it look's fine, just thought I would get a new head aswell justin case. What should it cost to get the labour done! if I take the motor in to someone?
