Nothing, it would be like buying second hand disk rotors, you cannot "see" any damage, so it is a big risk to install and then find out they have a problem.

If you are going to the expence of installing them, then the extra coin for new gear is a better idea. Also there are better rods/pistons than the stock F6 ones, as even the BA2/BF's have them

Be easier to buy a used F6 bottom end... or any bottom end april 06 on

I wonder what a bottom end from ford costs now?

I dont want to buy them. I already have an F6. What I wanted to know is if I upgraded my rods and pistons how much could I sell my old ones for? They would have to be worth something

I think it is fair to say that they are worthless.

The cost for someone to use these, is quite substantial, as a new block will probably have to be purchased to fit the pistons.

Oh and by the way, F6 pistons are no different to XR6T pistons.

Alot of guys with early EA-AU falcons would be interested in the rods for their turbo motors.

Apparently gas/F6/bf whatever you wanna call em rods will work with a custom forged piston in the early blocks.

Try selling them on fordmods.com, lots of turbo falcons on a budget there mate

Saw in another thread that a new bottom end (with the F6 rods) is $1800 from Ford.

Well A bit too cheap I think, but certainly around the $2000 - $2100 if you have the right contacts.

that's not bad if say you've thrown a rod with 350odd kw and are looking for a safer replacement.

Maybe they are cheaper now that its just a regular xr6t bottom end
