Zf 6 Speed Auto Opinion !

Just want to see what people think of the ZF first gear ratio as it is much shorter than the 4 speed's first. Some say it is too short !!

While it feels like 1st is too short, it gets these lardy Falcons off the line much quicker. The 4 speeders while taller had to stall up a heap to get even close to a stock ZF's 0-60km/h times.

As the gearbox has 2 extra gears they have spaced them out well for the required application.

its awsome when the car is stock. With more power it is to easy to hit the limiter when you have more power. imo the change from 1st to 2nd is way to slow.

Have hit the limiter a couple of times in first. It is a little low but like everyone here says, it really does get you off the line quicker.

I now change just as the car starts to pull really hard and it generally changes just right.

When you then mod the car, just start off in second. When the power is there so you can launch hard in second start using it, but for a stocker, first is great, just like every gear on the ZF.
