It just sounds weird when it makes the whoosh noise after everytime I back off.. I'll get some vids and see what you guys think  :spoton:

that's why I replaced mine with one that's made to vent to atmo. It sh*t me to tears. Now I don't have one at all. Been this way for almost 12 months and I had the front pipe off on Saturday, and the turbo looks brand f***n new still. Not a mark or bend on any blades, and I have been running atleast 10 psi that whole time.

10 psi is not that high, and any damage you may or may not incur, would not be visibel on the compressor vanes anyhow.

The problem with not having a BOV is the axial thrust loads placed on the bearings when the throttle closes at full boost.

Do you really think Ford would have fitted a BOV if they could have saved the money :spoton:

Well my wifes V40T4 runs 14.7 psi from the factory, and it aint fitted with a BOV and has done 130,000kms. Nizpro also don't fit BOV's, so whats the go then? Emissions? Throttle response?

And it has been running 12 psi for the last 9 months. With factory plumbing, I don't think I would be getting the times I have with only 10psi. But I am only a fool according to you, so what would I know? :spoton:

I got to say that is sounds pretty good but I think I would start to get annoyed by it after a while especially if it happened on every gear shift, whether I was driving hard or not.

Well, I'm happy you have convinced yourself that you are right :w00t2:

Maybe you should have a look at Garrett's information on the issue, they certainly recommend the use of BOV's 'to avoid damaging cavitation and pressure transients'

But then again, I haven't done much work on my car, so what do I know

So Simon from Nizpro knows nothing? Is this what you are saying? I know what you have done to your car, who wouldn't, but there are always 2 sides to the story.

Oh and I have not convinced myself of anything. I am a pleb compared to the likes of the 2 Simons etc. But I think Simon from Nizpro has been doing a little more work on cars for a alot longer than you.

You are not answering any of the questions I put to you?

DBOSS anyone, just reply with your silly little emoticons, or ignore them altogether.

1~ Simon G knows nothing?

2~ Was it response or emissions they put them there?
