Nice write up...

I did the trip from melbourne to perth in 04... great drive isnt it! I also stopped at the same places you did. The car just sticks to the road the entire trip (even at 230km/h :spoton: ) I went for a car bra but unlucky for me... it came away from the side of the car and left a $400 damage bill on the side of the bumper!

I wish I had known you were coming over, could have organised a meet with the WA boys n girls...

Sure is. I really enjoyed it despite the fuel dramas, particularly the road into and out of Norseman. The phoon is an excellent tourer. Yeh I should have posted something when I was there so I could catch up with the Perth chapter. THanks for the thought. We were fairly flat out catching up with friends and family we hadn't seen for a long time but that's no excuse. Car connections are important!! Ditto if you come to Canberra for, say, our little car show early in the new year.

Thanks Bugster. Glad you enjoyed the read. I'm in the northern region (Gungahlin). It's a stock looking purple one. Where are you and what does yours look like?

I'm on the southside, in Narrabundah. Stock looking HgAg T, except for the 18" ROH Drift R wheels.

The next day I rang the guys at ESP to book it in for a look.  Sure enough the filter was virtually blocked.  The tank was also full of crap so it had to be removed for a thorough clean.  This is a big job that requires removal of the rear axle assembly.  Nevertheless it had to be done.  Many hours later, the next day actually (which was the Australia Day holiday) and the boys had finished the job.  Thanks heaps guys for working on your holiday…..another example of excellent customer service.

I saw the car out there and was wondering if the owner was a member here and also what was done to it - now I know! :roflmbo:

Great read too.

Noice. I'll keep an eye out. Perhaps we can meet up in town sometime. Jimmy's good for a catch-up too I'm sure. Maybe a few others as well....

Yup, would be good to meet up and I'd be keen as beans to take a closer look at your beast. It's a long shot, but I don't suppose you work opposite the Fyshwick markets, do you? It's just that I've seen a stock looking purple F6 parked there quite a bit.

sure am mate :gooff: I'm taking a good few weeks off work when the bub is born (4wks or so), and although I'm sure it'll keep me very busy, I'm sure I'll be able to get away a bit easier then if I am stuck at work.. depending how the missus copes of course

But if you guys make any plans in the mean time, let me know, and I'll see how it fits with my work roster.

Can't wait to go for a ride in your phoon Max, the last time was good enough, can't wait to feel the new power :w00t2:

Unfortunately no, that one's not mine. I work in town. Happy to catch up on a weekend and show you the gear. It's a great looking kit. :spoton:

We can meet up in town if that's more convenient. That might work for Jimmy too providing he's not up to his armpits in nappies. :beerchug:

Sorry mate, forgot all about this thread, what with the thread reply notification feature not working and all! :3gears:

Well, I actually work in town, so meeting there would be easy for me. I'll shoot you a PM with my email address in case I forget to check this thread again! :spoton::w00t2:
