Some of you may have seen the topic ages ago about iiNet being useless and Telstra being even more useless, well I have finally been connected to ADSL with Westnet. I was getting a bit fed up, so I called telstra to find out the facts. They told me that there are no ports available at the sub-exchange, and the only thing I could do is wait and try again, so I did the same day and what do you know? I was connected 3 days later

So either this was the first job at my exchange for this year and they disconnected a bunch of disused ports, or someone at Telstra actually put in a job to do it specifically, but I dont really care cos it's working sweet now.

So anyway, I highly recommend Westnet for service and price in WA, and I'll be frequenting here more often from now on :spoton:

So WA crew, what say we cruise soon?

Ports will remain connected until such a time as someone needs it.

e.g.

100 ports available, all connected. 10 users no longer have ADSL but are still connected. 6 users are to be hooked up to ADSL which means twice the jumpering needs to be done being 6 to connect correctly to move off and 6 to jumper up. Typically the orders are handed out one at a time but every so often a jumper jockey will get a heap in there to rework.

Well I asked the girl that, and she told me if one customer is no longer connected to ADSL, that port will be freed up within a couple of days. But the batch work sounds more realistic.

Would probably have to wait a little bit for me, as my car is not running yet.

I know hiddeous is also out for a little while, as he is having surgery on his knee next week.

Would love to go on a cruise once all of this settles a little in a few weeks.

I would also offer to help organise, and maybe even do a dry run on some of the suggested routes if we venture outside the metro area :fool:

So that's what he's calling the purple money pit these days? :fool:

Yeah, I'm game for one in a few weeks time. If there's anything I can do (including attending the dry run) let me know.

The response is overwhelming

I know we have all been waiting anxiously for you to return :roflmbo: but maybe people are not looking here for a cruise suggestion :spoton:

Personally I am very happy that you are back, and are feeling up to a cruise again, so maybe a post in the cruise thread would help, and then let's not get too ambitious about numbers :spoton:
