No thrashing for the first 1,000 kms. Drive normally, don't load or labour the motor, but don't restrict it to low revs or speed limiting. No fast revving, smooth is the key and no boucing of the rev limiter every gear.

Gradually ramp up the speed of acceleration and loads after 500ks to 1,000. After 1,000 make a point of giving it a good thrashing for the next 500 to loosten it up and de-dag the motor.

Dump the oil at 1,500 to get rid of any swarf in the motor from running in, and replace it with a good mineral oil till 5,000 then replace it with a good synthetic.

Works for me.
