And the RRP for Australia mid next year blew me away at just on $1K for the deluxe system and approx $850 for the core.

Can't wait for the PS3 to be launched here and then hopefully the 360's price will plummet and then I can buy a HD-DVD drive for it when available, all coming in well below the price those knob ends on ebay paid.

The hd-dvd add on for the 360 should be here early next year with a price tag of $249 with the movie King Kong HD included in the price.

I don't think the 360 price will plummet though. At $650 for the premium vs $1000 for the premium PS3 there is no reason for them to drop the price.

Awesome price man for a HD-DVD player to move into HD Heaven, caught a look at a Samsung Blu-Ray DVD Player at JB Hifi tonight, damn it looked so sweet, talk about realism, even on a smallish LCD screen.

I'm not really up for the format battle, I'll go either way and eventually their will be players that will play both, so it won't really be too much of an issue.

Hmm you might be right, but call me a tight arse - I ain't paying over $500 for a games machine, so I might be waiting a while... considering I want the premium version and not the core.
