October 31, 200619 yr #1 Priced up some DECENT replacement tyres for the back of the car.Yokohama Advans AVS103 255/30/20's $700 odd PER TYRE!!!!! 245's not much cheaper.Quoted in SydneyAnyone out there seen a more reasonable price for this size/brand tyre or is this a decent price......???
October 31, 200619 yr #4 I'm actually a little surprised they were that cheap! I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but I was tossing up between 18" and 19" rims and went with 18" largely due to the cost of decent tyres. I knew I didn't want crappy rubber and the difference between even an 18" and 19" tyre was phenomenal. Goodyear F1 GS-D3s were about $450 a pop in 18" (I was lucky enough to get some on super special for $300 each), but equivalent 19" tyres were running well into the $600 bracket!! That, plus the added risk of more easily damaging the rim due to the lower profile tyres, harsher ride, etc, etc, led to my final 18" decision. If money were less of an object, I'd probably go with 19", but I reckon 20" is just too much of a compromise.

October 31, 200619 yr #6 I have 245/35-20 Yokohama Advans on the front of mine and were around $650'ish each and have 275/35-20 Toyo Proxes T1R's on the rear that were around the same.Unfortunately, I don't think the backs are going to last real long the way my car has no respect for them..........
October 31, 200619 yr #7 I run Toyo Proxes 4 on rear in a 245/35/20, they grip great, cost about $365 a tyre. Better than $700 a tyre which makes me all the more happy when I decide to step the rear end out.
October 31, 200619 yr #9 Author And who cares about the price, because were RID'N ON 20'S lolhaha well put YEAHH the 20's Club - woohoo!!!!!! It's for the Elite. Thanks for the feedback guys, looks like the price is about right. My car has no respect for the rear tyres either hence I wanna put stickier tyres on. Didn' realise the Toyo proxes are about half the price but I'm still goin for the Advans. Rolled the rear guard lips a bit tonight (using the handy F6Rapid method of hairdrier and axe handle) so the 255's should fit allright.Still, I'm going to get a set of rims and ET streets for the drags so I can preserve these 20's for a bit.
