This drives me nuts... and I actually consider it quite dangerous

Try this

Set Temp to AC/MAX and press front demister (so AC air flow is directed to the front window) Turn the air speed to about halfway.

Now turn the whole system off, ensuring that it's recycled, so the outside air can not get into the cabin.

let me guess the windscreen fogs up quick smart. you want a reason for it?

The reason it does this is cause by using the air conditioning you are drawing the moisture out of the air and it sticks on the air conditioning condensor behind the dash. when you turn off the ac sysatem with the recirc mode on its not drawing in any air from out side to even the temperature of the air cond system which would stop the fog on the screen. The temp at the a/c condensor can be below 0 degrees at times! With the difference in temp not being removed it then causes the air still around the air conditioning system to be very cold while everything else like the windscreen it trying to warm up. Instant no see screen! fun if you dont mean to do it. previous versions of the falcon used to go to fresh mode when turned off but that can cause cold drafts in the car which people don't like! this is all basically right!

OK I posted that msg on Friday... it was a long week

Basically what I'm talking about is if you have the AC set to blow on the front window, say to demist it, and then switch the AC off, it switches to fresh air. So if you switch it to recycled it switches the AC back on!

You can't just simply turn the AC off and turn it from fresh air to recycled, so you have no air coming in or blowing at all, without turning the demist setting to something else.

Do I make sense... it must be me, Fords AC is not idiot proof, or it was, but I'm just a better idiot!

I noticed that yesterday morning.

It's a safety thing, Ford realise that demist and recirc is a recipe for a fogged up windscreen, so they ensure A/C goes on if you select recirc.
