Hey guys,

Just wanted to get the general feeling out there over this little debate I have been having with some people.

Did you ask the father before popping the question to the Mrs? Or if you are a father of a bride did you get asked before your daughter?

Some people are telling me that there is no point asking the father, but I think it’s more a respect thing by telling him beforehand.

What does everyone think?

I asked, and the bastard told me he'd back back to me after the weekend, a fking long weekend!

It's all good, we all get along really well :spoton:

Edit: I should add it's a wog thing, if you are marrying a wog you better ask, or the parents would be deeply offended.

I think I would agree with Cro... it depends on culture and values of the family. You should be able to judge whether it is necessary or not, but I am of the opinion that if you get along with the family, there is nothing wrong with asking for their blessing before asking.

I know of families who wouldn't care less, but I also know a couple of families who would be deeply offended if they were not asked first. I think it has something to do with the fact that no matter how old their daughter is she will still be their baby... does that makes sense?

Some big news coming up Goran? Good luck if so!!

I am going to ask him, I been meaning to do it for the past two weeks but never got a chance to do it without anyone else around. So tonight I'll ask him.

I agree with Steve and I was always going to ask.

She has been waiting for a long time haha.
