I was affected by this for years. Finally fixed it when I ditched the Lycra playsuit. :pinch:

No seriously. I do know the answer. The generation of the charge occours as you are sliding over the seat to get out. It can be exaccerbated by they type of clothing, the humidity (Dryness) of the air etc. Once you are isolated from the car and then come in contact, the charge is dissipated to the car from whatever part of you makes contact.

Simple habit to overcome it.

1. As soon as you stop and open the door, put your hand on some part of the metal bodywork (Roof, doorjamb, etc) before you start to get out of the car.

2. Continue to be in contact till you are out.

This way, because you are part of the car circuit the charge cannot build up.

No charge for this consultation....... :censored:

I have exactly the same problem as you & its driving me crazy.

I think it has to do with the material they make the seat covers out of.

I am interested to see what other people do to fix the problem cause at this point Im going to have a heart attack by 30!!!

All you need to do is earth the car out. You can buy an earthing strap from any auto parts store, then conect one end to the underside of the car and the other will touch the ground when you stop, no zaps.

warning this mod like louvres will make the falcon look like gramps drives it or you can stop being girly skirt squat to p1ss and put up with it ya big wuss. :fool:

HAHAHAHA I think you can add them to near the middle of your car underneath so no one can see them.

I wonder if Ford will knock back my warrenty claims if I add them :fool:

Make sure it has a red triangle reflector on it too. Then you'll get that true "gramps" look. :fool:

I'm also in the same habit of touching the car as I get out because my work shirts seem to be the trigger for me. And anyone else in the car who cops a static belt from the car? Well that's just farken funny
