Finally fixed it when I ditched the Lycra playsuit. No seriously. I do know the answer. The generation of the charge occours as you are sliding over the seat to get out. It can be exaccerbated by they type of clothing, the humidity (Dryness) of the air etc. Once you are isolated from the car and then come in contact, the charge is dissipated to the car from whatever part of you makes contact.Simple habit to overcome it. 1. As soon as you stop and open the door, put your hand on some part of the metal bodywork (Roof, doorjamb, etc) before you start to get out of the car. 2. Continue to be in contact till you are out. This way, because you are part of the car circuit the charge cannot build up.No charge for this consultation....... Then you'll get that true "gramps" look. I'm also in the same habit of touching the car as I get out because my work shirts seem to be the trigger for me. And anyone else in the car who cops a static belt from the car? Well that's just farken funny Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/29351-static-electricity/#findComment-450300 Share on other sites
