T5

I have been searching for a while now on past post on here trying to find information about the t5. Now we all know it is but what I really wanted to know is what is a safe power to be run through these boxes, from the research I have done on here anywhere from like 250 kw upwards is living on borrowed time.

Other questions I have are, is there anyone who has upgraded there t5, like for instance straight cut titanium gears or other stupid things like that.

Finally whats a good going price for a t56 conversion these days ?

Any help/critisism will be good.

sorry to say there is no known good safe power level for the T5. Some shiat themselves with stock power nand others seem to cope ok with 250-270 rwkw. Its a bit of a lucky dip really. I wouldnt go past 250rwkw on a T5. Mine shiat itself twice and it was only stock

Stock how hard did u drive it lol, and u said twice did u get it rebuilt ? I presume u have a t56 in your car now mate ?

mines fine running 300rwkw. I am putting money away for the day it gives up though!! all depends how you drive it, and how hard you push it in my opinion! Some people drive their cars hard all day everyday, where as me for example, give it a good squirt on rare occasions and bum around mostly.

Yeh mate I am like u, just like to cruise, but every now and then I dont mind the odd squease of the accelerator. My T isn't my daily driver either I have a work hack for that. So I think I might just go with a clutch, and save money and pray that she holds up for a a while atleast.

Also mate how much did your clutch setup cost ? And I presume u are happy with it ?

off the top of my head it was around $1200 fitted. I'm happy with it, but the install was done here in canberra not at mal woods. As such, it shudders in 1st on most occasions unless I really ride it off the line or get the revs up a bit. Getting it re-installed in the next month or so to see if its any better. Other then that, it holds the power great, the pedal feel is awesome. My guess is, that the guys who installed it didn't machine the flywheel.. but we'll see when it comes out next time.

I'm running 312rwkw and haven't had problems yet. Mind you I havent had that amount of power for long.

I'm runing an Xtreme HD Organic which holds the power well and is smooth as. Only a heavier pedal feel.

I just got the Mal Wood option 1 clutch kit, slave cylinder and braided fluid line sent up and install here in Townsville. Cost me around $1500 all up and it feels great.....I'm still getting used to it though. Mal said it should handle the 240-250rwkw when I get the edit done next.

I have a T5 as well, I'm only going to push it to 250kw max.
