Hi everyone,

I'm a happy new owner of a 2004 XR6t. Picking it up tonight. It's got leather, sunroof, premium sound and its an auto sedan. Very happy about finding one with all the little extras.

Just a quick question though, I'm an IPOD nut, and was searching through your posts and read that the Premium Sound has an "Aux Input". Is this input standard with the premium sound, and where is it located?

I've already got a Belkin line out kit for my Ipod, so Im hoping to find out where to plug the line in cable... Can't live without my ipod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys

The Aux input is not standard, every car has the capability for one. It is simply a headphone jack that plugs in behind the fuse box which then has the jack under the tissue box holder. There are two types you can get from ford, a boosted one (about $100), a non boosted on ($30) or you could make your own.

From what I have heard you will need the boosted version as you will get a whine from the turbo.

So the turbo produces an electric current..... MMMMM very interesting.... :spoton:

Its is actually your alternator that is the cause your whine... alot like my G/F in the front seat.....

If it is the booster version, there'll be a small box mounted under the dash that's plugged in to the audio input as well as the mobile phone connector (for power).
