High Pitched Buzzing Sound

Featured Replies

#1

hey guys.

the 't' has slowly developed a high pitched buzzing/whistley sort of sound when accelerating in 2nd. it seems to be coming from the centre console-gearstick area. and it only seems to happen in 2nd gear while accelerating at the lower end of the rev range. its bloody annoying

any ideas?

no not on decel. and the wierd thing is only in 2nd gear around 1500-2500 rpm. it sounds like something inside the cabin and not coming from outside. dunno will have to book with ford I guess.

If its an auto and the buzzing is coming from the transmission area it may be the filter in the trans blocking up with debri, also check fluid level......auto trans service fixes this.

Stock or modified?

Do you drive it hard?

The 5 speeds were known to let go on standard cars too.
